6th Post of February – Snow

6/02/12

Over the weekend in Britain and where I am; London, real cold weathers and snow hit. I think this photo sums it up to be honest, so I don’t think we need to hear me harping on about the weather. I think most of us hear it enough by other people pointing out the obvious or weather people telling us their predictions, and mostly getting it wrong and having no idea what they are talking about.

So I’ll leave it with this pure magic photo

Basilique Saint Augustin

BASILIQUE SAINT AUGUSTIN

Is a Roman Catholic basilica dedicated to Saint Augustine of Hippo located in Annaba, Algeria.

I love to see this. Of course I wouldn’t act like a tourist, I would act and be much more dissect about that. I would be a traveller; admiring the culture and beauty behind the story and where it is.

Looks sheer beautiful architecture

Sliding Rocks of Racetrack Playa

The Sliding Rocks of Racetrack Playa

Unknown as to why or even how, these rocks move along the lake bed which is almost completely dry and relatively flat, some even weigh up to several hundred pounds.

Nobody has ever seen them move, yet may have come up with ideas as to how it might be happening. Can you guess why?

5th Post of February – Tourists and Travelling

5/02/12

Saw this statement in a shop window,

“Don’t be a tourist, when you can be a traveller”

and I thought quite an interesting statement, why would you want to be a tourist? They are usually the main annoyance of people who live in a interesting place. Making yourself a traveller would mean you are trying to experience that countries way of living and culture they live by much more, by trying to get involved with how they truly live rather than spectating what they do from a distance. Most ordinary people of that country don’t really admire and go to places and see objects that are pin pointed as tourist attractions. We all know that the governments have exploited historical, memorial places and objects so they can become a way of making money from those who want to apparently travel, but are really are behaving like tourists when seeing these places.

So don’t be a tourist, be a traveller and experience a different way of life instead of being visiting places that most likely will have relevance to you in the slightest, part from you have ‘been there’ (of course I know some pin points of landmarks are beautiful, I am mainly talking about common landmarks such as Windsor Castle, in England. Most ordinary British people haven’t visited it and most likely wouldn’t, just a tourist place)

4th Post of February – Toilet Paper

04/02/12

Okay sad I know! But the highlight of my Saturday was this toilet roll. Come on, isn’t it extremely random? I wasn’t expecting to see this what’s so ever when I went to the toilet, and at first I was like what the hell but I just couldn’t help but giggle. Than I thought imagine seeing this type of toilet paper everywhere; with different jokes and pictures on them. I think it would make going to the toilet a little more interesting and funnier thing to experience. You could actually make it a mission to see every public toilet you can, just so you can see the random joke and picture they got printed on their toilet paper (that would be something unusual for sure). Gosh all that imaginative thinking over seeing some toilet paper hehe…

Another toilet roll I saw, not unwrapped yet but has another different picture.

3rd Post of February – Good Friends

03/02/12

Third day of the challenge and well I have come to the conclusion that because I am looking for weird and interesting things, I am actually not finding them – when usually I always would. Dont you find that happens? when you want or look for something your tend not to find it?! So from this I will not bother looking for things and just let weird and random things come to me.

However despite this, Friday the main highlight to me was seeing one of my long time good friends. I hadn’t seen her in a while (far too long actually) but it was as if we had seen each other a few days before. We just talked and laughed like it was yesterday we spoke and I thought to myself,; this is what a true friend is. Someone you may not always talk to and see much, but you know when you need them and you do see them after quite sometime, you know they are there and you still can talk forever about anything.

So I thought I’ll share this poem, specially to my dearest friend…

So often we don’t take the time to be aware of what is treasured.

Not wealth or material things,

But how your days are measured.

Friendship is so special,

It cannot be brought or sold.

It is precious if it is brand new,

or priceless if it is old.

Friends are who you need the most,

When times are not so right.

They come and go so frequently,

You hope you pick one right.

The right one listens with both ears,

So they can be the one who says,

‘be calm and let me help’

We never forget our dearest friends,

And treat them with loving care.

If they don’t they will leave you,

When you need them they won’t be there.
