2nd Post of February – Wine

02/02/12
Wine has been the biggest topic of my day! Italian food for lunch, at this beautiful restaurant where there was this beautiful staircase with a wine case incorporated along the side going down. I mean this Italian restaurant is such an elegant place to go for a cosy atmosphere and delicious food. It’s tucked away in the streets of Shoreditch and if any of you have been to Shoreditch before, its such a boutique place – full of unique shops, restaurants and bars. Check out this wonderful stair case of wine, personally I don’t feel the photo does it justice but nevertheless still cool.

I also went to a wine shop today called bottle apostle! Literally this place is for all wine lovers; it’s literally wine heaven. Such a cool place, seriously look!

This photo only shows just one side to the shop, the whole shop is like this; ceiling to floor in all different wines from all around the world. One could think I am a lover for wine from this post and the day I have had involving wine, well I am not; I have no idea about wine really! But I do love drinking wine and I am starting to form more of a love for it and maybe could possibly lead to a passion to understanding it much more. I just adore the sheer elegance that people take into creating beautiful wines. From the actual bottle shape, to labels and the wine itself – altogether it creates a lovely combination to the feel of having and drinking mouthwatering wine. Plus I am on a new mission to find new interesting things I can get into and try, and I feel exploring this month with the challenge of taking a photo and writing a paragraph of the the weird and wonderful things I find or do within my day, is helping me achieve this.

Oh this wine shop had such a cool idea of trying new wines without having to buy a actual whole bottle. Look at this picture. You can see a selection of wines in a fridge, with a nozzle attached so the wine can be ejected when you press a button. You literally pay like a pound and you get 50ml of wine to try and see what you think of it. There is about 30-40 different wines you can try or so, which is a pretty impressive selection. But personally I wouldn’t advise trying them all; be a bit drunk from it but still really awesome idea.

Actually from it, its made me really want to join a wine tasting class so I can understand wines much more and have a good time meeting fellow wine lovers. So does anyone know of any in and around London?

First Post Of February

01/02/12

Well today was meant to be the first day of my One Photograph and One Paragraph challenge – as today is the first day of February! However I completely forget; bad I know :P suppose in my defence – doesn’t time just fly faster and faster these days? I literally cant believe its February already!

Moving on from my bad memory, I thought I’ll share this quote! I think specially today and in the past few weeks this is the one things I have learnt considerably and I am sure others have too.

“I used to think the worst thing in life was to end up all alone. It’s not. The worst thing in life is to end up with people who make you feel all alone.”

But sometimes you have to stop worrying, wondering and doubting. Have faith that things will work out, maybe not how you planned but just how it’s meant to be.

ALSO

isn’t this slightly disturbing art?! is it art? one could ask!

Well I think excellent concept I suppose its making a point to find beauty in decay however unfortunately I don’t think this is art. Its a photo, showing simple documentation, I personally think it takes more to make this tragedy art.

Never Give Up

February- Document Every Day With One Photograph and One Paragraph

Document every day with one photograph and one paragraph

In February bring a camera with you wherever you go.  Do your best to take one photograph that represents a standout experience from each day.  Then, before you go to bed each night, write one paragraph in a notebook or journal that highlights your day.  If do it all digitally you can unite your daily photograph and paragraph in one digital space (like a personal blog), which can be easily reviewed in the future.  Many moons from now these old photos and journal entries will ignite your recollection of interesting memories you would have otherwise forgotten.

Going to challenge myself and do this for the whole month of February!

You Should As well. Never Know What You May See

Are You A Fault Finder?

Some people are experts in finding fault in others, totally ignoring their own shortcomings. This has cost them a lot of good relationships; as such they often complain that it is hard to find a good man or woman not knowing that they are the problem themselves. So before you start looking for that perfect man or woman, examine yourself; are you perfect? Of course NOT! because no human being is perfect. We all have our shortcomings. If you continue to look for fault you may end up been lonely and frustrated.

How do you overcome this negative attitude:

  1. Look for the good in everyone you meet especially in any relationship, everyone is inbuilt with some good qualities no matter how insignificant it seems. Focus on their good points and try to overlook their weak points.
  2. Gently and kindly point out point out the negative trait in the character of others with the intention to correct them and not to humiliate them.
  3. Be patient! Give enough time for the other person to correction and change when necessary. Patience is an essential ingredient in any relationship.
  4. Remember, for you to have the best, you must be the best! Therefore examine yourself, take the necessary steps to get rid of your own bad attitudes.

(Can you see the problem here? How are the builders going to get out?! haha)
